Touching the Clouds (or Don’t Because It’s Illegal)

There’s much learning to be had about those big puffy things in the sky, totally cool stuff. Clouds are fun and exciting, but they come with risks. When in a cloud (of course, we would never…), you won’t be able to see anything except white. In the white room.

But if you are aware of all the other things in the sky (you probably won’t be), clouds could be safe (don’t trust this). Let’s see a video from an unknown wingsuiter, they make this look cool!

The clouds are fun to fly through (never done this btw…). It’s like proximity flying without the danger of hitting the object. Hit the clouds and you go through it. Hit a cliff, and you don’t go through it.

Let’s be safe when flying near clouds. We can’t see, and there may be some folks on the other side of that cloud. You could pop out and be facing another jumper, two wingsuits could collide at high speed in the clouds, there might be a plane on the other side, you can see how this might be an issue, right??

Look good, have fun, safety third. Clouds look good, they are fun, now let’s be safe. The safest method is to not fly through them. If you accidentally end up in the white room, be safe and try to look for obstacles in the sky; get out of the clouds, and be aware of where you are on the ground (you can get lost and open in a tough spot).

Keep touching those clouds, but don’t go through them (it’s against the law apparently). I won’t give you legal advice or tell you what to do. You are responsible for your skydive.

Cheers to partially cloudy blue skies, and those big, tall clouds.

Blue Skies,

WSL
